چکیده

We consider a hydrodynamic system that models the Smectic-A liquid crystal flow. The model consists of the Navier-Stokes equation for the fluid velocity coupled with a fourth-order equation for the layer variable φ, endowed with periodic boundary conditions. We analyze the long-time behavior of the solutions within the theory of infinite-dimensional dissipative dynamical systems. We first prove that in 2D, the problem possesses a global attractor A in certain phase space. Then we establish the existence of an exponential attractor M which entails that the global attractor A has finite fractal dimension. Moreover, we show that each trajectory converges to a single equilibrium by means of a suitable Lojasiewicz–Simon inequality. Corresponding results in 3D are also discussed.

Three-dimensional characteristic approach for incompressible thermo-flows and influence of artificial compressibility parameter

In this paper the characteristics of unsteady three-dimensional incompressible flows with heat transfer are obtained along with artificial compressibility of Chorin. At first, compatibility equations and pseudo characteristics for three-dimensional flows are derived from five governing equations (continuity equation, Momentum equations in three directions, and energy equation) and then results ...

Asymptotic Behavior of Solution to the Incompressible Nematic Liquid Crystal Flows in R

In this paper, we investigate the Cauchy problem for the incompressible nematic liquid crystal flows in three-dimensional whole space. First of all, we establish the global existence of solution by energy method under assumption of small initial data. Furthermore, the time decay rates of velocity and director are built when the initial data belongs to L1(R3) additionally. Finally, one also cons...

روش بالادست چندبعدی براساس مشخصه‌ها برای تحلیل جریان تراکم ناپذیر داخل حفره

In this research, a new multidimensional characteristic based upwind scheme for the solution of incompressible Navier-Stokes equations is presented. The incompressible flow equations have been coupled each other by the aid of artificial compressibility method. Unlike to the traditional characteristic based (CB) schemes, the present scheme is genuinely multidimensional in that the local charact...

Global Strong Solutions of the Full Navier-Stokes and Q-Tensor System for Nematic Liquid Crystal Flows in Two Dimensions

We consider a full Navier–Stokes and Q-tensor system for incompressible liquid crystal flows of nematic type. In the two dimensional periodic case, we prove the existence and uniqueness of global strong solutions that are uniformly bounded in time. This result is obtained without any smallness assumption on the physical parameter ξ that measures the ratio between tumbling and aligning effects o...
